The Fall 2007 Fingerstyle Showcase concert on September 18 had three first time participants including Dixie Michelle, a New Orleans native who has performed at the Grand Old Opry and now lives in Tulsa where she builds and plays guitars.  Next was TGS director Rod Saunders playing a couple of pieces from his upcoming CD Gates of Pearl.  Following Rod was Marcus Curtis, a rock guitarist turned fingerstyle enthusiast from Owasso who learned about the TGS through MySpace.  ORU guitar major Tim Schaeffer was next, followed by 16 year old Elliot Butay who made his second appearance at the showcase event.  Local engineer and classical guitar enthusiast Rich Connell then made his first appearance, followed by 18 year old Nathan Wright who performed two original tunes.  The final first-timer was Scott Holland, a former heavy metal guitarist who has now taken to playing classical guitar.  The closing performer was local attorney and guitar performer Pete Astor, who brought the house down with his renditions of Everybody Wants to Rule the World and his biggest hit Petey's Wakeup Call.  Thanks to all who attended and participated for making the evening a success.
