We had a great time Sept. 19 at the Fall 2006 Fingerstyle Showcase concert.  TGS director Rod Saunders started the evening off with McCormick by Alex De Grassi followed by J.T. Gentry playing an original tune entitled Halfway There.  Lon Bartlett was next with one of his original flamenco pieces Adios But Not Goodbye.  Joesf Glaude then played one of his compositions entitled God Light Clouds and Caleb Sanderson followed him with the prelude from the first cello suite by Bach.  Then Pete Astor and 17 year old Nathan Wright played orignial pieces followed by 15 year old Brandon Vaverka from Enid playing the classical piece Romance.  (Nice to have some young people involved.)  Darren Armentrout then played his composition Maybe which was the first departure from fingerstyle allowed at one of these concerts.  (After hearing Darren play we couldn't turn him away.)  Jeffrey Hiatt-Frink then played a couple of original pieces followed by Rod Saunders, Lon Bartlett, and J.T. Gentry playing a Spanish influenced arrangement of Jim Croce's Time in a Bottle.  Pete Astor and Joesf Glaude then performed a jazz tune written by Joesf entitled Spanish Cat Jazz.  Husband and wife team Cole and Emily Modlin then treated us to a duet of voice and guitar on Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasiliearas No. 5.  Closing out the evening was the flamenco group Reflejos Flamencos with guitarist Johnny Beard, dancer Lexi Beard, and percussionist Dylan Allen performing an original flamenco piece.
